Gia Bao revealed the reason behind Minh Canh’s invitation to participate in Vietnamese talent promotion

Artist Minh Canh: Can you tell me about his famous pieces?

Gia Bao shared that he was willing to invite artist Minh Canh to the show Vietnamese country talent from last September. Around April of this year he traveled to the USA for eight days, met directly with the artist Minh Canh and discussed agreeing on the program for the evening.

He said: “When I asked him to join the program he suggested: Please try to name some of his famous plays. Luckily I’m a descendant of the family and I love his voice too much. He nodded and accepted to join the program without asking anything.

Minh Canh expressed that due to a pandemic and the deaths of some people he knew, such as folk artist Diep Lang and meritorious artist Vu Linh, he felt life was ephemeral, so he felt the desire to come to the country to return to take part in a concert “to meet my beloved audience”.

With this program, Minh Canh wants to sing with old friends.

At the age of 80, Gia asked Bao Minh Canh to sing the entire opera to protect his health Bao Cong investigates the Quach Hoe case. This is a very popular record and Minh Canh mainly appears in the latter part.

Reenacted on stage this time, Gia Bao invited artist Chi Linh to play the role of director. The piece can last about two hours. Besides, Minh Canh also sings scenes Luu Binh-Duong Le.

The artist Minh Canh was born in 1937. He loved to sing and was gifted, so he learned from the masters very quickly.

He joined Kim Chung’s troupe at an early age and then took on the lead role in the plays Poor country clothes, green floor maiden, Bich Van Court…

The reason why people call Minh Canh is Emperor Vong Co because he has a very special voice, a lot of creativity that makes the song sound good and attractive. He was one of those who had been singing in the ranks of the masters for a long time.

Minh Canh is famous for a number of classical songs by composer Vien Chau, such as Vo Dong So, Luong Son Ba, sad King Ying music, baby shoe shine…

The pieces he recorded loved to fascinate audiences Autumn on Bach Ma Son, The Cold Night of the Abandoned Pagoda, Bao Cong examines the Fall of Quach Hoe…Minh Canh has recorded with many famous actresses like My Chau, Phuong Lien, Le Thuy, Thanh Kim Hue….

He currently lives in the USA with his family. Sometimes Minh Canh visits his hometown and in 2018 he performed in the concert of the artist Minh Minh Tam at the Youth Culture House in Ho Chi Minh City.
