The 6-day festival will feature artistic performances from 20 participating countries as well as the city of Hue.

The highlight of the festival will be the opening night ceremony which will celebrate 710 years since the founding of Thuan Hoa-Phu Xuan (now Thua Thien-Hue Province).

A wide variety of traditional Vietnamese activities including a calligraphy exhibition, kite flying, and human chess playing will be organized. Re-creation of special events will be carried out, such as the occasion of Nguyen Hue’s enthronement and the Nguyen Dynasty’s Doctorial examinations, and performances of dance and fireworks will be included.

 

France remains key partner of Hue festival 2016

France remains a key partner of the Festival Hue 2016 to be held in the ancient royal city of Hue in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue next year.

The information was confirmed at a meeting between Vice Chairman of Thua Thien – Hue provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dung and a delegation from France’s Poitou- Charentes region led by Yves Debien, Deputy President of the Regional Council. 
Both sides also discussed how to step up bilateral economic and investment cooperation.
