Billed as the largest Vietnamese film festival supporting Vietnamese filmmakers outside of Vietnam, this festival has helped give visibility to actors, directors and producers alike. The festival was created in 2003 by the Vietnamese Arts and Letters Association (VAALA) and this year marks the festival's 8th edition. The festival will be held at the UltraLuxe Anaheim Cinemas and will feature films from directors such as Ham Tran of Journey from the Fall, Charlie Nguyen and also introduce audiences to newcomers such as Tony Nguyen.

With a total of 31 films from countries such as Vietnam, Australia, Canada, Japan, Brazil, and the United States, this yearõs lineup has a little bit of everything for all audiences.

The festival used to be held biannually, but due to popular demand and widespread appeal, has re-branded and is now an annual event. The festival will open Thursday with the film 2030, directed by Nghiem-Minh Nguyen-Vo and will be followed by a cocktail reception. Tickets can be purchased online.
