Boney M will perform in Hanoi on October 1. A local bank has agreed to sponsor two concerts in Hanoi next month by Boney M, Scorpions and Chris Norman, a source told Thanh Nien without providing details.
On October 1 Boney M and Chris Norman will perform at the National Convention Center after reaching agreement with organizers with stringent conditions, Nguyen Thuy Duong, a spokesperson for the organizers, said.
Equipment has been hired in Japan and Singapore to meet their demands, he said.
On October 23 Scorpions will perform at the 3rd Monsoon Music Festival at the Thang Long Royal Citadel.
Composer Quoc Trung said it took them years to get the Scorpions to perform at the event.
“We invited them to the first event, but they refused because the event was not widely known then. They refused to perform at the second event because they were busy.
“We had to contact them early this time besides providing commitments on the organization and equipment.”

Scorpions will perform in Hanoi this October. Photo courtesy of the organizers Monsoon Music Festival, one of the biggest international musical events in Vietnam, will return for the third year this October with the legendary hard rock band Scorpions.
Organizers of the festival said in a press briefing that the German band, possibly one of the most successful acts from Europe, will be a special guest at the festival. The band is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Scorpions was first formed in 1965 and has gone through different line-ups with special commercial success between 1978 and 1992.
The five-member band, which has sold more than 100 million records, will join the stage with artists from Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, the UK, the US and Vietnam.
The music fest will be held between October 21 and 23 at Thang Long Royal Citadel in Hanoi.
